- 13 - 15 I myself have known the Germans for a very long time, since I have lived among them since I was a child. I never had to suffer in any form because of my mother tongue. The Germans were always interested only in my personal qualities and acted with me afterwards. During my visits to the German dignitaries, I was warmly welcomed. I would like to have an opportunity for all of you to get to know the very friendly way of dealing with the Germans. They don't love externalities and phrases, but like to go into debates about the core problem. The Germans are also close to us because they are an extremely music-loving people, they own the well-known Salzburg Festival and Bayreuth, where guests from all countries of the world flock every year. Do you really think that all these people who belong to different nations would meet there if the German people were not worthy of respect for the whole world because of their high musical culture? To be able to integrate us further into the context of the Great German Empire, it is necessary and necessary that we learn the German language as quickly as possible and in the best possible way. The knowledge of the German language must penetrate into all strata of the Czech people, this is a fundamental precondition for mutual settlement.Both peoples, which will enable us to draw from the inexorable German cultural treasure and to protect us from errors and misunderstandings that could arise from the insufficient knowledge of German. For this purpose, our circle initiates conversational courses of the German language to a very large extent; the interest in the broadest poems seems to be extremely high. 3
