STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 2026, sig. 109-7/33
English Translation
- 2 - Lively cooperation, on the other hand, always benefited both peoples. Let us remember only the age of our national saint, Prince Wenceslaus, as well as the golden age of Charles the Yiert, our great emperor, of these heydays of our homeland, from which unique cultural deeds originate. On the other hand, we compare the times of wars against the side, in which our homeland was exposed to desolation and lost its best sons. In such times, the culture fell, the people's wealth came to nothing, land and people needed long periods of time to recover half-way. Thus, the cooperation of both peoples is a matter of course. The simple man with his natural mind has long since brought this out. He longs for rest and wants to have the possibility to be able to devote himself to his people in cultural and economic activity in the consciousness of permanence. It is not the people who engage in aggressive acts: they are professional heretics, partly in the midst of people, partly abroad, who cause personal advantages, out of offended vanity and carelessness, at most also out of the intention to cause discontent everywhere, intending to overthrow the Czech people in calamity and adversity. In addition, I describe what can be seen from the point of view of the association in general and of our district group Gross-Prag in particular as the content of the cooperation, in which direction our work will take place and by what means we can meet the requirements of our work. An effective and sustained cooperation between the Czech people and the German people now requires the Czechs to overcome certain stages of development, and they will probably have to intervene in each other and be pushed down to the conceivable minimum by our instigation.
