201 - 5 - Need to align the German forest owner with a German policy. To this end, I visited with my department for forestry and agriculture a part of the German large landowners and will continue to exert my influence on them in the near future. The great property of Prince Liechtenstein, whose central administration is located in Olomouc, is considered to be particularly influential in the local society. Liechtenstein is a German prince; however, this commitment to Germanism has not yet had a major impact in its administration in the Protectorate. It was probably established that Liechtenstein had bowed to the pressure of the Czechs at that time and complied with their wishes, but an opposite development after l939 had not yet become apparent on its local estate. Therefore, on the occasion of a visit by the authorized Prince Karl Alfred - after my forestry clerk had already spoken to the Central Forestry Board - I referred to this situation and asked him to report on the line that Liechtenstein intends to adopt in the future in order to impose political conditions. The Central Forestry Director had asked my forest manager and asked him what measures he would have taken on the large base. However, I refused to make such a statement, but rather pointed out that the large landowner had to take the decision himself as to which routes he had taken. These meetings took effect insofar as Liechtenstein removed its former Czech Central Director from his department and transferred him only to the position of legal adviser for the future.
