44 Prague, 23 January 194o. 1940 Herfh Ministerial Council B e r t s c h. 23. I. The following statement has been sent to the Secretary of State for consideration: "The mood of the people is essentially determined by economic concerns. Wide circles of workers and employees complain that the wage increase ordered a few weeks ago will not be carried out or practically bypassed by any measures. Often, the question arises which body is responsible for receiving complaints in this regard. As an example, how all wage difficulties are attributed to German faults, a process from the button factory "Butonia" in Raudnitz can be mentioned. On the idea of the workers, why the increase was not carried out completely, was informed by the management of this Jewish enterprise that this was prohibited by the Reichsprotector." The Secretary of State looks forward to your report on the result of the examination. 1381T V1 C3
