5 41 In no case, however, will we be able to produce a sufficient quantity of the required pig fat, since we also have no preconditions for pig farming, because we have specialized our breeding exclusively for meat pigs throughout decades. At the end of a period of time, it is likely that more favourable conditions will occur in butter production once the whole collection and distribution organization is in full swing. Nevertheless, our situation in terms of fat supply will not be favourable, as the production of artificial fats will enter a critical stage in the near future, bearing in mind that almost no raw material is available. The whole production of these skinned edible fats, which in frieren years amounted to 75,000 tonnes, was based on imports of foreign overseas raw materials. The proportion of domestic raw materials was very small and was limited only to winter rapes, which was produced this year in a quantity of 4.l29 tonnes. A Today's reserves of raw materials are very low, so that about 2,300 tonnes of raw material remain on January of next year (on rafined oil uncalculated) and 440 tonnes in the technical presses. If it is considered that in the first half of the current year, 3,3oo tonnes of raw materials were needed for the production of artificial fats and that at least 1/3 of the raw materials must be reserved for technical purposes from the quantity indicated above, then l,500 tonnes remains for the month of January for food purposes.
