12' A k t e n o t i z . L e_g i o b a n k . On 30.3.d.J. Legiobank received the official order to hand over its Slovak holdings and branches to the Vienna bank "Creditanstalt und Wiener Bankverein" within 24 hours. In this connection, I learned that the insurance company "Legie", which is affiliated to Legiobank, is now to be renamed "Lipa" (Linde) and transferred to a foreign consortium. The transfer is supposed to be desired by the Reichsprotector, since the new company belongs to a Swiss insurance consortium. This transaction is supposed to be in the interests of the Reich, as the seizure of foreign exchange would strengthen the National Bank's foreign exchange treasury for Bohemia and Moravia. Another version is that a local insurance company - A.G. "Merkur" allegedly received the insurance entitlement. However, the "Mercury" is said to be worse founded than the Legie (now Lipa). However, the acquisition by Mercury is to take place because the entire insurance system is translated into the proketorate. My judgment: It has no purpose to make major changes and possibly to transfer a totally Czech insurance stock to another, which would have been due to the fact that within the insured persons of Lipa there would be a transfer to other Czech institutions, which in future would only be a follow-up to the taking-up company, especially if this company has a German character or is related to other German insurance companies.
