121 Prague, 26 April 1940. Head of Division II Mr. S t aa t s se k re t a r . Betr. : Export Institute. 2hu As I have already reported, the export institute in Prague will be considerably reduced and limited to the tasks of a German foreign trade office. The agencies and correspondents working abroad for the export institute will disappear; only a few collective representatives will be left in agreement with the temporary office for a transitional period. The staff of the institute will be fundamentally renewed in consultation with the SD. All directors, especially Dr. K o s e, will leave. Only the Director General Dr. F a f 1 will remain for a short time; he will be assisted by an absolutely reliable personality as his future successor. The representative of the Reichsstelle für den Außenhandel B e c k e r, previously official of the former German embassy in Prague, will be replaced. In practical terms, the export institute is to be brought into close contact with the Reichsstelle für den Außenhandel. Furthermore, it should be closely related to the Central Association of Industry, thereby at the same time a further German influence on the institute. The reorganization will be carried out until 15 May d.J. fg4. Pl. N $\.α /.2914.40. \C3
