STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1941, sig. 109-6/33

y7 - 4 - Number of vital necessities have become more expensive than in the Old Reich. Furthermore, these austerity measures do not take into account that there are either no German schools at all in the provincial cities of the Protectorate or that there could only be established elementary schools with difficulty and need. All officials who have children who attend a high school in the Reich are therefore forced to leave their children in the Empire and stay there in pen- sions. The signed Oberlandrat, for example, has to accommodate a son of 19 and a daughter of 18 years in Dresden in pensions because there is no higher school in Königgrätz. This burdenes him monthly with a verifiable multi-issue of 250.- RM. Special complaints are made from the circle of the gendarmerie department. The gendarme officers are on average older married men with children. They have been transferred to the protectorate without exception, probably for saving reasons. The transfer was accepted for reasons of official hearing; of course, the officials hoped that at least the transfer would be accompanied by an increased income. Thus, their additional expenditure, especially for the school attendance of children, would have been balanced to some extent. The hopes of the officials and, in particular, of the gendarmerie officials were greatly disappointed by the fact that the flat-rate allowance for missions paid for the gen Darmerie officers in the old kingdom has been cancelled in the Protectorate since 1.4.4o. For this each individual trip must be liguided. First of all, this means a considerable writing, and second, if they can't do special liquidation, the gendarmerie officials lose 69th RM since the 1.4th month.
