Field Post Office No. 21825A Sl AL 9/40. Tgb.Nr. 27/40. 0.U., 6.1940. Betr.: Property damage in Prague on 1 January 1939 allegedly by members of the LjAH. Reference: Letter of 23 February 1940, Act.Z.: St.$ 172/40. To 4-group leader and State Secretary Karl Hermann Frank Prague. Dear comrade Frank ! The investigations of the perpetrators carried out by the field court of the body stand type have unfortunately not been successful. Since further evidence is missing and the group of persons to which the perp belong is extremely large, further investigations do not promise any success. I therefore have stopped the investigation. To my regret, it is not possible to pay compensation to the persons affected by the regiment. The force is only responsible for damages incurred in the exercise of service equipment (§ 839 BGB). In cases of damage other than official affairs, only the perpetrators are personally liable. No funds are available for this purpose. Another question is whether compensation can be granted by the local civil administration on the basis of the law of violence or other provisions in question to the injured party. @SrOHeil Hitler ! firik Dein bryey! fi07 /108.40 St. S.
