ss - Standortkoinmandant Prag Prague, September 26, 1940 Notes: 1 Process. Dear Dr. G i e s ! In the annex I present an operation concerning the W-Unterscharführer W e e s with the request for information and your mediation in this matter. As can be seen from the file, it was only after lengthy inquiries that Weiss became aware that he was the driver of the Under-State Secretary Dr. von Burgsdorff. Unterscharführer Weiss was a member of the Waffen-h and was transferred by letter of 26 July 1940 from 4-"Germania" to the 4-station commandant, Prag on a vacant post. Since Weiss is sufficient for his military service at the Arms-H and has to be approached as a soldier under the German military laws, he is to be covered by his new department, the location commander, in terms of accommodation, catering, clothing, salary and also strength. It is therefore a military and official impossibility that the Unterscharführer Weiss has been providing driver services at a department for more than a year now and still provides, which does not belong to the arms-/. The following should be clarified: 1.) Has the Unterscharführer Weiss become known in any way to his transfer to the location administration? 2.) Is Unterscharter Weiss Kapitulant,or has he committed himself only for a period of service of 4 years? 3.) In the latter case, if he had already completed 4 years of service, he would continue to be on duty as a reservist during the war and only after the war could he be released into a civilian profession, e.g. as a driver to Dr. von Burgsdorff.
