The Chief of the Order Police 18 September 1940. Berlin NW 7, the Unter den Linden 74 telex: 180924 Düco des Staa sfekretärs ben Reichsp.o.ektor in Bohemia unò mähren. Eing.: 21 SEP. 1940 Dear party comrade Frank Tgb. Nr.:... Jch adds in the annex two reports on the construction and the use of forces and war of the Ordnungspoli- zei in the first years of the war. These reports show what the police have done so far since the beginning of the war. Jch can only highlight a number of these reports. Since the start of the crisis alone 120 000 men aged 18-45 have been trained militarily and police. This achievement must be evaluated taking into account the fact that the Wehrmacht at that time in the Landespo lize received a militaryly fully trained and fully equipped army of 65 000 men, whereby of course the officers and sub-leaders were the most militaryly trained material of the police. The number of former national police officers awarded the Knight's Cross by the leader shows just how well the surrendered officers were. These are 39 officers so far. According to the previous demands for the fulfilment of the police duties after the war, an increase of the active police force by 70 O00 man is to be expected. The accompanying reports are already to be used as submissions for the preparations of the forthcoming major meetings and especially for the support of these tasks in the relevant governing departments of the party, state and the Wehrmacht.
