English Translation

Report on the general political situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia for the period from the l.lo. to the 3l. lo.l940. The assumption expressed in the last monthly report that the anti-German influences would be stronger than the re-education action initiated by the Czech side in the sense of the Reich's idea has been confirmed. It should be noted that the action has completely failed. The loyalty meetings held throughout the Protectorate did not receive any positive response from the audience or the population. There was a clear expression of indifference and rejection among the participants in the meeting. The resonance of the population consists in the view that the assemblies and the declarations of loyalty read therein are a necessary concession to German rule resulting from the political situation. After the failure of the wave of meetings, the National Community tried to prove its richness through radical Jewish decrees. The members of the National Union were forbidden all social intercourse with Jews under threat of exclusion. The government was called upon to enact Jewish laws and submitted to them broad proposals. These measures were also completely rejected in all sections of the population and triggered a storm of indignation.
