06 Prague, 2 October 1941. Czerninpalais. Soeben, 10.45 a.m., asked Minister Krejči to be received. He made the following statement: Jm order of the President Dr. Hácha he called yesterday to the Ministerial Council of Krieser to find out what possibilities of a request of grace for the former sentenced to death. He did not want to join any kind of Jntervention for Eliáš, but only to determine the legal course. Since Krieser refused him the information and referred it to the Reichsprotektor, he had informed the President of the Republic. However, the whole matter would be settled by the fact that the Deputy Reichsprotektor informed the President on his own initiative about the condemnation of the Eliáš and an opportunity of grace. He, Krejči, now had the impression that he had made a mistake by his presentation to Mr Krieser and regretted this deeply. He also asked me to receive Mr Fousek, President of the National Community, for a declaration of loyalty.
