91 DER REICSMINISTER BERLIN, THE 15. September 1944 FOR SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND EDUCATION Minister's Office Eing.: 18. SEP. 1944 6646 RW Dear party comrade Frank! The suggestion of Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter Henlein to leave Professor Buntru as rector of the German Technical University in Prague, I was able in my answer from the l8. Your letter of July 3rd - St. M. 405/240/44 - prompts me to revise my statement, because in the meantime the death of the Rector of the university there has created a completely different situation. It is not desirable for the rectors of both German universities to change at the same time in the foreign country of Prague. Moreover, Professor Buntru, who has successfully managed the university himself for a long time, can support the new rector of the university with advice and action even better if he himself holds the rectorate of the Technical University for a while. I therefore now agree that Professor Buntru will first remain as Rector of the German Technical University in Prague. However, if Professor Buntr takes over the position of permanent representative of the Reichsdozent leader, it should be examined to the German Minister of State for Bohemia and Moravia K.H.F r a n k 2=r={=g St.M.π0-73C/44
