10a has the necessary experience, we will work closely with the Reich Ministry of Education on the subject of technical school supervision. We have agreed that the Reich Ministry of Education will officially ask the State Ministry to take care of the school supervision with the permanent participation of the specialized department of the Reich's Ministry of National Education. The required building quotas are provided centrally by the Reich. The High Command of the Kriegsmarine hopes to begin construction work in a few weeks' time and to be able to finish the school by autumn so that it would be opened at the beginning of the new school year. The school is to comprise 3 classes of 3 divisions of 50 boys, i.e. 450 boys, of which the l50 of the 3rd school year will be in factory operation. The purpose of the technical sea vocational schools is to train young people in technical staff for the Kriegsmarine. Students are admitted to the 3 year vocational school after completion of their compulsory schooling. In the first two school years they receive 1 2 - 1 4 hours of theoretical instruction and work practically in the school workshops. In the third school year, pupils are brought to Motorenwerken to work. The completion of the vocational schools replaces the assistant examination and enables the graduates to take all technical professions without any compulsion to remain in the navy. However, military service is in any case carried out within the warmar_e.
