The position of the Catholic anti-reformational supremacy is becoming more and more decisive. As a result, it meets the Hussitic-anti-Catholic attitude of the lower and a part also of the high Bohemian nobility. This creates the denominationally ideological area of opposition. In Central Europe, the dynasties will then become the first and victorious pioneer of the state form of the future: the absolute large-scale princely stronghold. It will thus meet the strong tendencies towards respect for the sovereign privileges in the social and political sphere as well as in the area of the individualities of the countries. The second major political front emerges along this line of opposition. As in France the ethnic opposition of the Fronde to the absolutist aspirations of the Iandeshern confessional (hugenottisch) is undermined, so shout in Bohemia: hie faxkkxxh dynastic-Catholic-centralist - hie standensch-katho- lisch-landesfreilich. This initially simple and clear front position is now complicated by the fact that Bohemia, as since its beginning, has been intertwined with the extreme relationship of the whole of Germany, which characterizes the period between reformation and the Thirty Years' War. This general analysis of the situation shows that the popular idea that the Hapsburg invasion had involved a radical political oppression of the Czech people is completely over-reacting. There was neither a national feeling comparable to today's (and not on both sides) nor was there any national questioning at all, in which the opposites defused themselves. - E - 5 -
