The political structure of the Austrian monarchy, which needs to be redrawn, can only be understood by looking at the nobility as a constitutional and, above all, constitutional element of this great power. A closer look at it shows that, in view of its insertion and task in the state, it has a distinct and independent centre between the English and French forms. Thus it has developed here quite peculiar and independent forms that are unique in history and have proved themselves, even with the end of this state system irrevocably passed away. It is significant that the historical components of the monarchy differ in a characteristic way in terms of the political significance of the nobility.
