The size of the time we live in demands of each of us the final commitment for the common goal: the victory of our weapons. So it may seem almost untimely when I call for cooperation in an association that is dedicated to the promotion of sound art. Indeed, with the maintenance of our cultural assets, we are in the end preparing a work of peace. But since the hard struggle, which is needed by the leaders and the people, is not an end in itself for us, but rather the preparation for a true, lasting peace, it is already our duty today to faithfully guard also the high cultural values of our nation. In a city like Prague, with a glorious German past, it is also our duty to create the foundations for building a thriving German cultural life. The "German Music Society in Prague" was founded only a few months ago. At that time, I explained that it was premature to determine the life and work of society and to define its tasks firmly. In a short time, this circle of tasks has now grown so that we have to move towards bringing music society into a lively relationship with the German population of Prague and to shape it into a true community of music lovers. The individual areas of work can only be interpreted here: control of the German music life, organization of concerts, execution of music weeks, design of the Rudolfinum etc. However, I would like to stress one task: to awaken and maintain enthusiasm and understanding for the masterpieces of German sound art in a wide range of circles and especially among young people. To this end, introduction and other generally understandable music lectures are intended to serve. This is precisely what we are striving to promote among all German music lovers of this city! In this sense, I call for the accession to the "German Music Society in Prague, which is to become a bulwark of German cultural will in this area for future times. Heil Hitler!
