In order to avoid these ambiguities, the idea has long been expressed in professional circles of German schoolmen that, in addition to close cooperation between Reichsprotector and the Ministry of Education, it would be desirable to link the official activities of both bodies. In particular, the German representatives in the Ministry of Education were interested in this question and gave suggestions on several occasions in advance. On the occasion of the demise of the school councillor Fielitz, the head of the Volks- und Bürgerschulreferente of the group I/1o at the Reichsprotector, the proposal was made to unite in the person of the Oberregierungs- und Schulrat Langhans the corresponding department with the Reich Protector and in the school ministry. Rumours about an imminent elimination of the High School Council Fitzek, the headmaster for high schools in Group I/1o, gave rise to similar suggestions with the aim of a personal union in the hands of senior study director Willinger.
