26 - 16 - Imports, both as exports, developed almost exclusively by clearing. In the occupied countries much more was carried out than from there. Finally, one can summarize the main trains of the external trade in the year 1942 following. The turnover of the exchange of goods with foreign countries continued to decline, whereby the decline in imports was much greater than exports. On the import side, the shift in favour of imports of bulk goods was observed, especially of raw materials. Exports consisted almost exclusively of finished goods. The prices of the imported goods increased disproportionately more than those of the exported goods. Payment transactions developed almost exclusively in the clearing. The most important trading partner remained as for Slovakia. Foreign trade in the year 1942 remained viderstandsfähigkeitsspezial as regards exports despite the third year of war.
