In the annex, I shall present a list of the results of the checks carried out on 40 farmers in the local district on the accuracy of the reports submitted by them to the municipal offices on 15 December 1941 on the yield of the cereal harvest in 1994l. The cases in which the quantity of cereals recorded by the control committee exceeds the quantity declared by the farmer by more than 20a are underlined in the list in red. As regards the checks carried out, I note that, according to the control bodies, there will in no way be any malicious concealment of grain stocks.As a result of lack of driftetoff or the strong restriction on the supply of electricity this autumn, most farmers have not been able to harvest all their grain so far, so that the control organs could only record the grain stocks present in the barns by estimates and, in doing so, could easily occur, especially for larger farmers, differences of several double-cents. On the other hand, it was found in several cases that the farmers delivered more cereals at the expense of their self-sufficiency and fodder rations and of the seedbeteits than they were obliged to.They did so out of ignorance of their claims and fear of punishment.In some cases, more cereals were delivered than had been reported for delivery.
