The administration of the urban churches and the conscrip tion department is taken over by the economic office the assessment and levying of the taxes for the church- and religious societies recognized by the state. According to the situation of 28 February 1942 employed: Higher Higher Higher Intermediate Assistance - Together: Service Service Service Staff Staff Unit XIV 2 4 2 2 10 Church and cemetery office 7 6 77 90 - Building Office Abt.7b 1 3 2 2 8 Total 108 . For the tasks assumed by the Economic Office from the Conciliation Office only administrative staff can be employed. The activities so far concerned by Unit XIV have been transferred to Division 570 of the Church and Cemetery Office. The Unit was too well equipped with lawyers and administrators of the elevated service. In its place, some middle-service forces are provided. The administration in the narrow sense and the construction administration, on the other hand, are rather too weakly occupied. The architectural condition of the cemeteries leaves much to be desired; especially the artistic design does not correspond in all parts to the height of the building culture that otherwise prevails in Prague• Since the cemetaries significantly influence the cityscape, emphasis should be placed on their good architectural and gardening care. For this purpose, more technical forces will be assigned to the construction department.
