30 183 2 Veterinarians for the veterinary examination centre and 1 assistant veterinarian in support of the head of office. Apart from the proposal made for the livestock farm and the meat market hall, the requested forces appear appropriate in view of the need to strengthen food control in Prague. Staff are provided for : Division l50 - General Administration : 1 City Veterinarian Council as Head of the Office in Bes.Gr. Department l5l - Outer Districts : The urban area is to be divided into lo county districts, each occupied by 1 official veterinarian. The administration beckons for each district the allocation of a police officer for investigations, surveys, sampling, etc. Although food control is usually to be carried out in the presence of a police officer, it is not possible to meet the wishes of the administration. Food control is in principle a police task, which is to be performed by the police administration. For this purpose, its veterinarians would be assigned as scientific expert for animal products. As the police administration in Prague needs to be reorganized, it seems appropriate first of all to leave the scientific experts for food control at the specialised offices, i.e. the health department and the veterinary department. However, the accompanying police officers cannot be assigned to the veterinary office.
