28 THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ORDER POLICIES PRAG XIX., 28 August 1943. AT THE REICHER PROTECTOR General-Roettig-Strasse 14. IN BÖHMEN AND MÄHREN Fernruf: Fernamt Reichsprotektor Prag A VuR. V/1. Location call: Sammlung-Nr. Prag 77355 und 77551 Side connection number 381 eonsrtreyteil yUe deru Office of the Secretary of State Higher 4 and police chief at the Reichspretektor 4-Obergruppenführer in Bohemia and mähren. Mr. Minister of State K.H. F r a n k Eing.: - 4th SEP. 1943 in P r a g IV. Betr.: Land Prague XIX, Yorckstr.9. Reference: Letter from the Reich Student Leadership - German Student Association - of 12.8.1943 -Z.K/N.- The building Yorkstr.9 was opened to me by the Magistrate of the capital Prague on 16.3.1939 No. 1l6/38 for use, but had such structural defects that a use of this house could only be considered as a storage room. Especially in winter the building, since without central heating, was unusable for residential purposes. My request to the owner, the advance fund Werschowitz, to have the building repaired, was rejected. The growing housing shortage caused me to make use of the house as a living space in summer 1942. Jch had the building expanded with a cost of approx. 52 000,- RM and divided into small apartments. The house is currently inhabited by 8 families and 4 individuals, altogether 3o persons. The existing living space is therefore fully exploited. No room serves storage purposes. The information given by the Reichsstudentenführung that the house was occupied with only 8 persons is therefore incorrect. For the duration of the war I can under no circumstances give up this apartment property, since the housing requirements for the members of my staff are by far not covered. In addition, the high repair costs of the house, which is not imperial property, must be covered over the years by the official accommodation and raised rent.
