The Wehrmacht authorized prag, the 5, Aprd1 at the Reichsprotektor in Bohemia and Moravia. Group Land Survey No. 183/40 go. Secret! To the Zetifrile. Lord Reich Protector in Bohemia, and Moravia Orginme biI1l inPrague. Wl174 Referring to my audition with the Lord Reichsprotector and to my discussion with Mr. Jng. 1.) We are in the middle of a tremendous world event. As great as the past of Prague may be, the present and the future are bigger. Perhaps after the war the expediency and necessity to name streets and squares by name, which are not yet universally confessed, occurs. A new change would be the consequence. 2.) It seems military and probably not politically appropriate when squares and street trains constantly remind one another of the struggles of German tribes under one another in the Bohemian Moravian region. One should draw a line among these little pleasing historical sections especially before Czechism and put the Prague public mainly under the thought of Grossdeutschland. The Wehrmacht will be particularly visible in the districts occupied by it. W.B. believes that a general proposal can only be made in agreement with the High Command of the Wehrmascht. However, the present time seems inappropriate and premature. 3.) Since such renamings of roads and squares are of great interest to the population, it should be considered whether, for these reasons too, a general renaissance would be anticipated. As Prague's example would and would have to follow all the other cities in the Protectorate, it seems more expedient to resolve the conflict in the course of the general popular politics after the war. Of course, individual untenable names of streets will have to be renamed public squares and buildings - as before. St.S. The Wehrmacht
