The Lord Stv.Reichsprotector stated that he would have to reject political responsibility for the local area and for the continued smooth fulfilment of the growing war tasks placed upon the Protectorate if it remained with the present dispositions. According to the most rigorous calculations for the current marketing year, the Protectorate needed a fat grant of 3l,600 tonnes, which was lower than the subsidy in the previous marketing year. It was politically excluded that the fat ratios of the protectorate population already under the Reichsrates should be reduced at this time. It had therefore not been helped by a subsidy of l6.ooo t, that this quantity had been seized by Secretary of State Backe at that time. In the sugar area, the protectorate was still supplier to the empire to the strongest extent, namely in the amount of 155.o0 t. This would make up for the fat grant of the empire he requested. State Secretary Kürner replied that he was fully aware of the situation in the Protectorate and was happy to give a presentation to Mr Reichsmarschall on the basis of today's debate in the sense of the Protectorates. He acknowledged that the supply of 180,000 tonnes of bread grain in the changed situation meant a completion of the promise made by the Lord's Imperial Protector to the Lord Reichemarschall and - especially in comparison with the previous year - an extraordinary achievement of the Protectorate for the Empire.
