He could not make a final decision without a new decision of the Lord Reichsmarschall. However, he took on his responsibility that the protectorate should be fed with fat. A rest in the Protectorate had to be absolutely spared in the interest of the German war economy. He therefore immediately gave Secretary of State Backe, telephonically, the announcement that the already pronounced fat barrier for the protectorate should be lifted. The further fat leakages should first be at the expense of the promised grant of 16 000 tonnes of fat, which also had been given by State Secretary Backe for necessary and possible. State Secretary Körner agreed to discuss the further details with State Secretary Backe, also General of the Flieger Bodenschatz took the same position under the need to keep the works of weapons and ammunition entrusted to him in the Protectorate at their current level of performance. He said, however, that it would be a good idea to approximate the diets of the Protectorate of the Old Kingdom. Following the debate, the Secretary of State, Mr Körner, was given the opportunity to comment on the opinion of the protectorate of Bohemia.
