- 4 The political ideology of Sokol is that of Czech chauvinism. It has been determined since the founding of p a n s l a v i s - t i s c h and f a n a t i c h - d e u t s h f e i n d- 1 i c a. A work by Dr. Miroslav T y r š - one of the founders of the Sokol -, which he published as a public letter in 1866 under the title "To the People's Armament against the Prussians". Also in later publications the meaning of the sokol in this direction is recorded and evaluated. It is considered a kind of "people's heer", which J.s. Machar in the year l9o9 expressed with the following words: "The birth of Sokol was the most fruitful and glorious moment in our national development. A people's army was created whose fraternal spirit was a reverberation of the Husite armies and their democratism of the breath of life itself of the young people...". When the Austro-Hungarian state recognized the danger of the Sokol during the World War and dissolved it, the Socol went completely away from its gymnastic goals and mainly dealt with the establishment of illegal political struggle associations and helped many of its members to desert abroad. After the overthrow of the year l9l8, the Sokol took over the entire military and civilian administration. It was built into the political system of the Beneš regime. The Sokol education method was carried especially into the Czechoslovak army. His leaders listened without exception to Freemasonry. In the March days of 193§, the Sokol was again the headquarters for the pre-military education of the male youth. Finally, during the mobilization of May, he played a leading role and was mainly involved in the establishment of the so-called National Guard, which was used to guard militarily important objects, as well as for the observation of the civilian population. Finally, it should be pointed out that the Sokol is today a superstitious all-Slavist organization for the purpose of securing Slavic validity and supremacy in Europe. The "Südlavische Sokol" was created by the Czech Sokol.
