Prague, 6 January 1940 ts Security Service RF SD section Prague B 3 - Z/159 f Office of the Secretary of State ha/ at the Reichsspcotektor Geheim in Bohemia and Moravia. Bing.: 8,JAN. 1940 To the Tgh, M.. 8t2 State Secretary at the Reichsprotl Böhmen and Moravia, H-Group Leader F r a n k , Pra6 Betr.: D v o r n i k Franz, Schreibleiter, born: 22.5.1892 in Mahr,-Ostrau, divorced, residing: Prag-Strašnice, Černokostelecká 1151. The editor Franz D v o r n i k was the editor of the newspaper "Obrana slovenská" written in Slovakia, which stopped its publication on 15.3.1939, but is now again published under the title "Obrana svornosti". Dvornik has good relations with Slovak and Czech circles and is a personal friend of Professor T u k a , with whom he was detained for three weeks in the Pankratz prison before the establishment of the Protectorate. According to the political files of the police headquarters in Prague, D. was accused by his divorced wife of the state and military treason. In the sense of the Czechoslovak state, he has always been considered politically unreliable and dangerous to the state. As far as his former political attitude is concerned, D. was, according to his own statements, only a fascist, later a member of the Slovak Hlinka party. It does not appear to belong to a particular political group, but it seems to change its political overture according to expediency reasons. - 2 -
