46 Copy. Z/B the 12.12.1939 Betr.: Dr. Maximilian P a s s e r/Interview with Colonel Longin Dr. P. was asked again about the content of his conversation with Colonel longin. His rendering is completely in line with the first report. Right at the beginning of the conversation, Colonel Longin explained and emphasized this in particular: "We soldiers/military/do not really care about politics and do not intervene in it at all. But we have to be informed, because we are finally the last means, if everyone else says so." - Longin then inquired how the last speech at the Old Town Ring of the State Secretary's fj group leader K.H. Frank was received by the Czechs. Passer replied that it was high time that a decisive German personality of the czech was present. The government and the leaders of the ČNS the mask was torn from the face. It is only regrettable that in the population there is often the opinion that the secretary of state meant the whole Czech people. Longin said that it was absolutely necessary that the idea of understanding be maintained, because that is the way the leader wants it. Passer he counted, on this occasion, that Colonel Longin must be an over-explained nation-sal socialist, because almost all his sentences begin with the words: "The leader wants... the leader said... And so on." Colonel Longin regretted that there was no social traffic between the two nations and that the two peoples only live side by side in this area, rather than acting positively together. Of course, the intransient Czechs had to be eliminated. The German military were equally convinced that a lot of things had a double face and that a double tongue was spoken. -2-
