ORR. W. S c h r o e d e r Prague, 31 July 1939. N Dear comrade Gies! Due to the friendly invitation given to me by Kam. Stoige, I would like to give you a report on the situation here. Two days after you had moved away, the Under-Secretary had me ordered to himself, told me that he greatly appreciated my work, that I had done amazingly much in the time of my being, and that my ability to carry out his work was more important than the Wilhelmis and the employment, because in the pay policy there would be constantly new questions and complaints, which required new measures each time, while the work set a one-off affair. He has to talk to me, and that is that I am not constantly passing on to him in my actions, and I am talking these things directly to the Secretary of State, which is putting him before completed measures. I then explained to him that this procedure had become necessary for my part, because kx Wilhelmi did not let me go to him, who also did not allow the other speakers to lecture with him. I then told him that I was Mr W. e.g. In such emergencies, I would have to go for factual reasons in order to obtain a decision which was open to me as an SS leader on the road to the SS.- Kameräden Prank. I should have had to take all the decisive measures against Mr W's view so far, and the success was quite right, because the head of the labour force has been trying to get to him for 14 days, but Mr W. would not allow it. I would like to ask him whether, in view of the importance of wage policy, now that there are more than 30 people in my paper, it is not possible to make a separate group out of my paper because I cannot and will not be able to work in the long term.
