The first chairman of the National Community Adolf Hr u bý spoke visibly to two V-men about the current overall political situation of the Protectorates. Hrubý, who is already known from his earlier work in the agricultural party as a highly skilled politician, had apparently recognized the presence of his two interlocutors and gave a dementedly coloured representation with regard to the purpose he pursued. In this respect, Hruby's expressions should be raised with reservation. Hrubý first marks the work of the National Community. Her activity takes place according to a mindless program. She has not yet demonstrated the ability to work politically, but merely to debate political issues. The inability of the national community lies in her complete dependence on the interests of the former parties. The secre- taries in the NG are still under the command of the former party leaders, who still hold the strings in their hands. The government is composed of by no means honest and trustworthy persons. It is in close contact with foreign immigration and works according to specific instructions. In the state budget for 1939 about 6o - 8o million K were booked under different dates, over which Prime Minister Eliás personally disposed. These funds were partly used to organize the local defense struggle against the empire, partly they were made available to foreign emigration.
