B 4 Betr.: Hockey game Germany - Protectorate. On January 1, 940, the ice stadium in Prague in front of almost 80oo spectators took place the ice hockey game announced in the press as a "national fight" against the protectorate selection team, which lost the German crew with l : 5. The course of the game and the accompanying circumstances are, for example, for the attitude of the Czechs towards Germanism, but on the other hand entitle them to criticise the responsible German groups. In itself, it seems questionable to present a German selection team, which was also in a bad state of play, such as the Vereinsmannschaffen von Rissersee and the Berliner Eissportgemeinschaft at their previous games in Prague, as a national team. This fact must be made all the more clear, taking into account the fact that a sporting victory is perceived and rated by the Czechs as a political superiority of the Czech Volken vis-à-vis the German. As if it were an international game, the national anthems were played at the beginning of the event. The Czech society, whose behaviour was partly contested in the German press of the Protectorate, may have proved by itself that it did not regard this game in the same way as in a telegram read by the Reichssportführer during the second break.
