45 Report on registered letter of the Deutsche Ansiedlungsgesellschaft Allentsteig, _ posted on 4.8.1939 in Allent Steig, without imprint "Dur deutsche Dienstleistungspost", promoted by Deutsche Dienstpost, delivered in the ground office in Prague, Wenceslas Square 58 on 7.8.19 39 at 1600 o'clock. S e u b e r tyh informs that the registered letter mentioned above was issued on August 7, 1939 at 16oo. Schlesier in room 86 of the ground office by the courier, police guard master Zeilhofer, service number ll59. Zeilhofer informed Seuberth that he did not pay attention at the reception of the letter whether the letter was already open. Frl. Schlesier would not have made him aware of it either, so that he withdrew from his profession in what condition the letter was in. Seuberth spoke to the director of Zimmer's No. 300 at the Czernin-Palais, Stadtinspektor Gross-Blotekamp and Kreiss Secretary Jansen, who announced that the letter was delivered to room 300 at the entrance point and in this condition was handed over to the courier Zeilhofer with other mail items in the folder. Gross-Blotekamp and Jansen assume that the letter in the portfolio had been blown up due to its heavy content and the bad paper that had the envelope. This assumption, however, seems to be obsolete, since the opening on closer examination shows that, although there were damage in three places, which is clearly to be declared, the opening with a blunt object is likely to have taken place.Min.
