State Secretary Dr. Landfried explained in an introduction that he believed with Reichsminister Funk that the wishes of different foreign states for the buyback of German participations in enterprises in these states were fundamentally not justified. However, in the case of Slovakia the situation was different. Slovakia is a state of protection of the German Reich and therefore deserves special support. However, the German Empire can also exert sufficient influence on this state of defence, so that it would need less participation in industrial enterprises for this purpose. Schultze-Schlutius explained in detail the negotiations to date on the issue of participation. He pointed out that the Slovak government considered the buyback of protectorate holdings in Slovak companies to be an essential way of facilitating the clearing situation. Since Germany has an urgent interest in Besei- ./ because of the war-important deliveries of Slovakia.
