34 Prague, 13 November 1941. Minister Dr. Krejči appeared to me in the evening hours and told me the following: Jm Order of the President Dr. Hácha he asks that the President of the Republic be able to take part personally in the visit of the coronation miniodies in the Wenceslas Chapel. He also handed me four keys to the chamber of jewels with a protocol, three of which had been in the possession of President Hácha and one of them had been held by the Archbishop of Prague. Since the protocol on the handing over of the keys to me also contained the sentence, that these four keys were to be returned to Krejčí for Hácha after the inspection of the coronation mini-ods, I had the sentence deleted and told Krejèi that on the day of the visit the Reichsprotektor had the plan to take all seven keys into his and thus the kingdom's care, but to return a key to the President Hákha as head of the Protectorate and thus to express autonomy. Krejčí then explained that in these circumstances, in his opinion, President Hácha might not take part and would see a capitis deminutio in it. He believed that this grief should not be done to the President and that he should be left with three keys to keep him. Jch told him that I would present his wishes to the Imperial Protector. The modified protocol was signed by me and Krejčí in two copies and then exchanged. I took the key into my safe in custody. mony
