THE SECRETARY TO THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 434, sig. 109-4/179

- 3 - According to all the experience so far, I could not assume that these sabotage acts are being carried out by railway agents who have the possibility at any time to access much more effective files. I would like to assume that the perpetrators are either parachute agents or promoted criminals. From this consideration, all persons who have moved to the police district in the last three months were checked and a night patrol was carried out in the whole police district, after persons not registered for residence. These measures, however, could not bring the desired success, since the near Reichs Grenze allows the perpetrators to stay in the Reichsgebiet (mainly Olsa area). This assumption is confirmed by the fact that a large number of damaged wagons from the Olsa region were found in the last time. During the period from 13 to 27.X.l94l l0 in the morning, 5l cases of damaged hoses were detected in the police district. In 2l cases, it was noted by the mentioned special command that this is an accidental damage to the traffic and therefore these cases should be excluded from the outset as sabotage file. According to the previous year's results, this figure corresponds to normal consumption. In 30 cases, it is therefore deliberate damage. Of these 30 cars, 20 already came to the police district with damaged hoses and therefore had to have been damaged outside my district. Only in l0 Pällen it was found that the damage was carried out in the police district. Of these 8 occurred during the parking of the wagons on the coal shafts or in the Witkowitzer Eisenwerk, so that I have to answer only two cases (sabotage file) at the stations. The one case was found on the 1 8.d.M. on the 40.Geleise of the Montanbahn in Moravian Ostrava and the second one on the 25th.M on the Montansbahn Josefs-Kolonie in Silesian Ostreau. In the latter case the wagon reached the Olsa area at 2 o'clock at night at the coal station "Josefs-Kolonie" and was unfortunately not immediately tested. Only in the morning of 8 o' clock the damage was discovered. Since the station is constantly guarded and the railway staff admitted that they had not checked the car at night in the Olsa area, it is by no means proved that this only deliberate damage of the last week in the police district has been done. Therefore, since only two acts of sabotage have been committed in Ostrava over the last two weeks, one of which has not even been fully proven, I can say that there is no talk of an extension of the sabotaging operation. Although I cannot fully trust the Czech guards after the experiences gained in the last few days, I would like to mention that I have put all the German forces at my disposal in this service and that under their leadership the entire security service is constantly in place. ./.
