2/7e I could, in fact, still have a lot to say, but I am afraid to tire too much. I would rather encourage, not exhaust, especially since our association, as already said, wants to continue in our activity today and should follow today's lecture evening others. We Čechen are looking forward to the promises made by Germans. I would like to say a few words: our teachers are often accused by Germans of incorrect recruitment, but I could give you letters from teachers who are convincingly committed to the beginning of our association and to their cooperation. Gentlemen, the picture I have outlined to you is kaleidoscopically colourful. If you think about it, you will probably understand the self-confidence of the Czech man and his sensitivities. Take a walk on a sunny day on our legendary Vyše-hrad. You will enjoy beautiful views of our expensive Prague and perhaps also the magic of the only beautifully located, small cemetery on you, where many of our greats have found their last resting place. You will often find there well-known names. The leader of the Great German Empire is working on a new Europe. As a result, the tasks of the German people are becoming immeasurable. A whole number of different people are supposed to come under generous leadership. Old Austria has not solved its historic task of bringing different peoples to a happy coexistence. Many explanations of the leader indicate that he wants to go other ways. Let this be clearly seen in all the German places with which our people come into contact! Promote every honest popularism and attitude towards great goals for the common best. Infertile dispute should obviously be transformed into noble competition. Performance should be decisive. Even a small people can do great things if one removes obstacles and promotes their development. This is certainly a task worthy of a great nation and whose successful solution can only bring it honor. — That is God's rule! 14
