:3 The Imperial Protector in Bohemia and Moravia Brag, 12.2.1940. h XV P Lüt.L. Nr. Ceheim $.a.d. It is requested to indicate this trade mark and object in the case of worldly letters. L18/2.40. To SS-Sturmbannführer Oberregierungsrat Dr. G i e s s , P r a g IV.,_Czernin-Palais. l940 and annexes I inform you that the author of the following article is the chief author of official Czech correspondence for the provincial press / "Česká korespondence" / Dr.V. Vilinskij. Vilinskyj has written the article on his own initiative. To the person Dr. Vilinskij the following may be noted. Dr. Vilinski is a Russian emigrant and, after having previously been editor at the "Lidové Noviny", was, to my knowledge, taken over as a contract editor in the Czech Press Office in 1930 and later as a sectional council of the Press Department of the Council of Ministers Bureau. Since the beginning of the work of the group XV team in the Czech press office, I have prepared a good opinion with him.Dr.Vilinskij was an intimate friend of Schmoranz, of whom he still believes that he could not have been so stupid to get involved in illegal affairs. Dr. Vilinkkij is extremely ambitious and has had great difficulties here in the autumn of last year by his Czech superiors.I have largely dealt with this problem in his hand, so that he owes his current largely independent position to my intervention. From this point on Dr. Vilinskij proved that he is perfectly capable of interpreting the respective German guidelines and wishes of the Czech public in his correspondence. Dr. Vilinskij is a former member of the agricultural party and still has a considerable close ties to the former Prime Minister Beran. It should be mentioned that Dr. Vilinskij has an unmanageable tendency to intrigue, which has already brought him to certain difficulties of the chief. /./ XI1 H 5
