In a letter from the Standartenführer Ballauf dated 27.9.1940, which was delivered to the tournament participants, on page 2, hunting jumping class A, it is stated that this jumping was allowed "for all horses of German riders and riders of Prague who have not yet participated in a public tournament". On the basis of this call, four of my officers had registered to participate in hunting jumping A. A short time before the day of the tournament, a Czech officer approached Colonel Herf and advised him not to compete with the troop horse set up by the Czech police, but to obtain another better horse from private hands, because he - the Czech officer - had learned that, contrary to the conditions set, horses that had already taken part in his tournament would nevertheless appear in the A-class hunting jumping competition.
