Betr.: Award of the Adalbert Stifter Prize l942. I refer to my memo dated 28 January 1943. December l942, with which I sent a message from the Landesdienst Sudetengau dated from Eger about the award of the Poem Prize to Dr. Leo Hans Mally. The remarks made by me in this note are now overtaken. Unfortunately, the people and the Reich - publishing house did not give me the distribution of the prizes on 2o. In addition, I was informed that Ss-Obersturmbannführer Heiss wished to publish a publication on the distribution of prices only after the Christmas and New Year holidays. The message dated from Eger (see my note from 28th February) was, as I could see, from the winner Dr. Mally and was blocked by me. On my part, however, private reports of the other prize winners, which have each published a report in their Gauzeitungen about the prize awarded to them, could not be blocked. Only when the German Cultural Service of the DNB Berlin published an unconciliated report, I had them blocked for the whole Reich with a pern letter from 3o.l2.l942. Upon my question from the head of the publishing house Dr. Richter, he told me, however, much too late that a message was desired only after the holidays (this wish, though, should have been sent to me immediately after the 2o., so that the lock for the whole empire could have been arranged from me). After I had blocked the notification, I at the same time instructed the DNB to file a complaint on my behalf with DNB Berlin that such a notification was distributed without prior consultation with the Reichsprotector. Dr. Aichinger of the DNB Berlin replied by letter of 4.l.l943 and was right to complain that no notification of the distribution of prices on December 2nd had been issued from here. ./. St..A-6 9/41
