82 Ernst Frank Office of the Secretary of State Hauptjchrijtleiter 0 be Feidispeaterktac der Deufjhen Tages-Zeitung f1n la.BuhBuna mahven. Karlovy Vary 9. Eing.: 11.APR. 1941 Dear Karl ! T'gb. No.: You may be aware that in Karlový Vary the three doctors Dr.Hochberger, Dr. Hübscher and Dr. Fritsch were arrested because they were guilty of abortion. Dr.Erwin Fritsch seems to have known about the trial he is facing before his arrest and has gone to Prague twice to initiate you into his affair. He has not succeeded in bridging you. Since he seems to know you-- he used to be a migratory bird-- so he also now commissioned his wife and their uncle, a more influential court council in Reichenberg, to interest you in his case, but also in vain, so that he now turned to me through his wife, asking you to possibly use you for him. Since one cannot easily reject a young and distressed woman, I promised her to teach you about Fritsch Erwin's location//žgü/zéK/ zü. I probably know Pritsch better than you. Fritsch was arrested about the beginning of this year. The Gestapo accused him of 3o abortion cases in the period from l935 to 1 May l938. l5 cases had to be withdrawn as unfounded or undetectable. Five other cases could now be covered by attest. The whole thing came to light by the fact that the Gestapo had a Züzl/eiéz diary of the Jewish doctor Dr. Kafka, by which Fritsch and Schöniger appeared burdened, while Hochberger as former chairman of the medical chamber in Karlovy Vary to have spared the Schweivnereien. According to the 1st May l938, Dr. Fritsch claims, no more intervention is to be proven to him. Fritsch Erwin graduated from Karlovy Vary Gymnasium. During this time he was the local group leader of Karlovary's Wandervogel, as a Prague student he was Caroline. He then did not belong to any party, but always remained on the side of society and joined the SdP about the summer of l937. As a doctor he was very popular and often worked without remuneration for poor people. His wife now collects such cases for him. The defender of Fritsch, Dr. Pfannerer, advised her to do so. However, he seems to be expecting the sentence because he warned him to turn to you, you may give him a confirmation that you know Fritsch Erwin, that he is known to you as a people of perfect ethnicity, in short, that you support aliaag's application for grace, which Dr. Pfannerer intends to address to the Ministry of Justice. Fritsch's wife has been very depressed by the case. It is a granddaughter of the former mayor Knoll, Karlsbad. She has two children with Erwin, a third, a boy, just lost her because of the great excitement. You can imagine that you can't sew a woman. But I told her explicitly that, of course, I can't do more for her than to teach you about the matter and that I can hardly speak to you for Fritsch Erwin, because I think very strictly in such cases. The only thing I can cite for him is the injustice that exists in the fact that there are only three doctors involved in this matter, while a large number of other doctors are still running around who have acted at least as well as the three concerned. -6/41
