Prague IV Eingu23.MRZ. 1942 3.α.d Czernin-Palais. my Subject: Jan S n i z e k , artistic director of the 2/4.42 "Independant Theatre", born 28.12.o4 in Prague. Process: Without reason of the witnesses who had stayed here on 5.2. 1942. According to the Zdenka and Ludmila K r i v a n e k, S n i z e k was arrested on ll.2.l942 because of anti-German statements that he allegedly made in front of several members of the theatre. The information of the two witnesses appeared to be credible at first. However, it can be seen that the information provided by the two parties was at least influenced by the withdrawal of the roles temporarily transferred to them. In his questioning, Sn z e k denied that he had ever made any anti-German statements. According to further testimony, the two K r i v a n e ks have already told S n i z e k s before the arrest that they would have him detained. They were therefore heard again and explained that this view of the witnesses could probably have arisen from an utterance of Ludmila Krivanek, in which she had said after the departure of the roles in the theater, if she would not sing in the choir, S n z e k would not make the prologue either. This statement should not have referred to the political manifestations of the Sn ic e k, but only to the fact that Sn e k is supposed to have made immoral applications to them under threat of non-employment and that they thereby made it in a certain relationship, S.FC-15/42
