Mr. State Secretary ! In reply to your letter of 3 July concerning Professor Gustav Kerl in Elbogen, I would like to inform you that Prof. Kerl was given leave of absence in the year l93l from health care, with a waiting fee, and later retired in time and afterwards. Professor Kerl suffered from nervous disorders, which had their cause in the fact that he was devoted to the drunkenness. This condition also led on several occasions to unpleasant occurrences in the service both in teaching and in communication with his director. This is due solely to his premature pensio= nation and by no means to a special national activity. I also occasionally talked to Dr. Bruckner about this during a stay in Elbogen, and Dr.Bruckner explained that no doctor would approve a re-entry into school service with regard to the increasing deterioration of his health condition, which was seriously affected by drunkenness. Heil Hitler ! Hh ayub hiphely
