Taking into account this fact, it was clear that large circles of Czech intelligence were willing to work illegally after the establishment of the Protectorate. This fact has been confirmed again and again by the intervention of the secret state police in the individual sectors of illegal Czech work, because it has been shown that in all sectors the Czech intelligence circles have been the leaders. In the arrested groups of people of the Czech Intelligence, however, there were also representatives of all the former Czech parties from left to right. Of the 596 persons who had previously appeared in the active resistance group, which was organized by former officers, 360 are to be counted among the intelligence class. According to the proven patterns of the illegal work of the Czechs during World War II, which made a significant, but generally underestimated, contribution to the destruction of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, illegal work in the present has been tackled from various sides. Only when it became apparent that several illegal groups were at work was an attempt by a Central Committee to unify all these groups, to put them under the leadership of this Committee and to systematically align the work. This goal was no longer achieved because the final development of the head was prevented by the local access. The group of persons arrested and still to be arrested in this context, some of whom are refugees, is composed almost exclusively of Czech intellectuals. 59 of the 68 persons belong to the intellectual class. Among them are: 5 university teachers, 4 lawyers, 2 ministers, 5 senior ministerial officials, 2 judges, 4 professional representatives, 1 doctor, 1 engineer, 1 architect.
