44-Grup. 11 July 1942. St.S. 270/42. 1. To Mr. 11. VII. 1942 General der Flieger Bodenschatz, Berlin W8, Leipzigerstraße 7, Reichsluftfahrtministerium. Very venerable Herr General, dear party comrade Bodensatz ! The local armament inspector Major General Schütze, who belongs to the Luftwaffe, is due to leave the active service shortly because of reaching the age limit. General Schütze has worked very well and maintains a very good working relationship with the services of the party and the state. I would greatly regret it from the point of view of substance if General Sagittarius were to be withdrawn. It would seem appropriate to leave General Schütze, who is in full possession of his powers, in the Protectorate until the end of the war. I would not turn to you in this matter if I did not attach an essential importance to it. For a brief message of whether General Schütze's whereabouts should be reckoned with, I am grateful to you. With cordial greetings and salvation Hitler!
