The behaviour of the broad Czech public to significant foreign Pelite and military events also proved their deep-rooted German hostility in this report span. The joy of Yugoslavia's post-military coup attitude, which was still apparent at the beginning of the month, led the Czechs to step out of their precaution and openly express their sympathy for the "Slavic brothers". After the blitz-like suppression of Yugoslavia, the charac teristic observation for the Czech mentality could soon be made again that after the first disappointment by the Bagatelliisation of the German successes tried again with the reference to their "insignificantness". At the end of the month, the hopes of the Czechs were again increasingly directed towards the Soviet Union. The consistent anti-German attitude also expressed itself in the behaviour of the Czechs towards the local Germanism. The terror cases against Germans, which were also reported this month, which in particular increased alarmingly before the German invasion of Yugoslavia, documented the unchanged opposing overall attitude of the Chechnya. In addition, hatred against all Germans again aired in numerous threatening letters. Significantly, a large number of actions were directed against scattered German people and ethnic German children.
