- 2 - warn to drive the Elbe with the work cabs located near the seaside resort. A clear prohibition was made by me out of knowledge of the great dangers in Lagerieiterbepräsentungen as well as by circular letters to all camp leaders. Above all also the leaders and drivers were informed accordingly when changing. On the same morning, I reminded the camp staff of a musical and sane stand in front of the commander's office of the ban on untieing the Elbe barges and doing other mischief so that I could not receive a collection of complaints about mischief again on Monday. In particular, however, the camp manager pointed out the great dangers caused by the flood during a morning celebration on the Elbe. Despite all these warnings, instructions and prohibitions, these Jgg. detached a barge in a disciplinary way and thus drove the described nonsense, which took such a terrible end to it. In particular, I would like to mention that in the early days of the boys and girls a patrol service was carried out by camp managers, camp instructors and HJ drivers of Sunday, which could only be of limited effect, since the activity of our boys and parents at the extended current of the Elbe is not overlooked. As of now, I have agreed with the Czech gendarmerie stationed here that, during the Sunday break-out period of our camps, a strengthened patrol service of the gendarme will be set up. To this end, in addition to the measures taken so far, everything could have been done to guard against a similar occurrence for which no one is to be blamed.
