bhfb K2 GppelbtI I 1 a - 1520 Prague, 19 August 1942 Subject: Event announcements N.Madpr V e r m er k : J Bhcyans 2ot By order of 15 March 1940 - I 1a - 8192 - the Oberlandrats were ordered to report here without delay on disasters, mass accidents, etc. "In the letter of the Office of the Jtaatsselretär dated 7.5.1942, Mr. Staatsse-är had decreed that every important event report should be transmitted to him by telex from the Oberlandraten, without de-chadet of the method of reporting prescribed for these declarations. In accordance with the decrees of l6.5. and 29.6.1942 - I 1a - 1520-, the Oberlandsretürs issued orders to the Ober Landraten. Before the decrees were issued, it had been made clear that this obligation also applies to police and/or political matters. On the other hand, by letter of 22 July 19942, the Pemissshaber of the police had expressed that by this extension of the obligation to report, the Oberlandrats were more or less also pushed into the state police sector. It therefore proposes the abolition of the Brlaß of 16.5 and 29.6. and suggests that in future the obligation to report will only apply to non-political matters and will pass from the Oberlandrüten to the district authorities- Reichsbeauftragteverwaltung or police directorate. On the other hand, I should like to suggest that the level of reporting should not be affected, since, in my opinion, it is not as important as the fact that the reporting is carried out as quickly as possible, and that this should be accompanied by a report of a political nature. However, I also believe that in the future events will no longer be held by the Upper Land Councils (whose public telephones are not occupied at night and who, as a result of their insularity, are not present at their pea- tary), but by the district heads and police officers.
