After the establishment of the protectorate, the Czech whisper propaganda has repeatedly spread in all possible forms the rumor that on the German side a population-political increase of the Czechs would not be considered desirable and would be combated by means of various kinds. Among other things, one has not only the obligatory vaccinations, but mainly the voluntary vaccinations e.g. against diphtheria, used in Czech children, with the indication that the vaccinations would result in harmful consequences for health, to induce parents not to have their children vaccinated. In fact, the effect of these rumors in 1939/40 could also be found to be a certain resistance by the Czech population against the preventive vaccinations. Mothers said that they would not have their children vaccinated, because the serum was poisoned by the Germans and, as a result of these vaccinations, a healthy Czech offspring could no longer be spoken of. Mothers appeared in front of the school buildings, where they formed groups in excited debates, partly invaded the schools and brought their children home.
